◉ PRODUCT SPECIFICATION
1. Product Overview
2. Standard Designations
UNS: S30403
ASTM: A240/A240M
EURONORM: 1.4307
JIS: SUS 304L
GB/T: 022Cr19Ni10 (Old designation: 00Cr19Ni10)
3. Chemical Composition (% by weight)
4. Mechanical Properties (at Room Temperature, for Annealed Condition)
(Note: The lower carbon content results in slightly lower yield and tensile strength compared to standard 304.)
5. Physical Properties (Typical)
Identical to 304, as the base composition is similar.
6. Corrosion Resistance
General Corrosion: Excellent resistance, similar to 304, in a wide range of environments.
Intergranular Corrosion: Significantly superior to 304. The low carbon content prevents harmful chromium carbide formation in the heat-affected zone (HAZ) of welds, making it the preferred choice for welded structures.
Pitting/Corrosion Resistance: Good resistance to mildly corrosive environments. Its Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) is ~19, same as 304.
7. Typical Applications
Welded Fabrications: Pressure vessels, tanks, and piping systems for the chemical, petrochemical, and food industries.
Architectural & Marine: Welded structures in environments exposed to corrosive agents.
Heat Exchangers: Especially those involving welding.
Pharmaceutical & Food Processing Equipment: Where sanitization and corrosion resistance are critical.
